  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond milk or any milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit raisins or cranberries

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, almond milk, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until fully combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts and dried fruit.
  6. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
