- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray. 
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. 
- In a small bowl, mix the basil pesto, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. 
- Spread the pesto mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. 
- Scatter the halved cherry tomatoes around the salmon on the baking sheet. 
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the salmon and tomatoes. 
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through. 
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired before serving.
