Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onion until translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up and cooking until browned, about 7-8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Stir in tomato paste and crushed tomatoes. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gnocchi according to package instructions, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Combine cooked gnocchi with the bolognese sauce in a large mixing bowl. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and then Parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Broil for 2-3 minutes if an extra crispy top is desired.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with herbs if desired.

Notes
For a lighter option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based alternatives. Customize the cheese topping to your liking.
