- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan. 
- While the butter is melting, crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them together with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. 
- Place the slices of bread in the skillet and toast them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. 
- Once the bread is toasted, pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread slices. 
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the eggs. 
- Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted. 
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
