Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry oat mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into bars and serve.
