Method
 

Making the Cookie Dough
  1. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream the unsalted butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the maple syrup and egg, mixing until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just incorporated.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Baking the Cookies
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough chills.
  2. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Portion out approximately 1.5 oz of dough and roll into balls.
  4. Place dough balls on prepared sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.

Dipping and Decorating
