Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground beef for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3 to 4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Spread the ground beef mixture evenly in the greased baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef.
  5. Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, dried Italian seasoning, and paprika. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated parmesan on top.
  6. Pour beef broth or water around the edges of the baking dish and cover with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until potatoes are golden and tender.
