Preparation Steps
- In a small saucepan, combine 1/3 cup pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons molasses, and 3 1/2 tablespoons sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture starts to boil, about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of peanut butter and 1/8 teaspoon salt until well combined.
- Add 1 1/2 cups bran flakes or corn flakes and gently fold into the mixture.
- Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper, transfer the mixture into the pan, and freeze for about 30 minutes.
- Once set, cut into bars and coat with melted chocolate chips or a mixture of coconut oil and cocoa powder if desired.
