Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by peeling and washing 3-4 medium-sized potatoes until they shine. Grate the potatoes using a box grater or food processor, then transfer the grated potatoes to a clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible.
- In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes with 1 cup of shredded cheese, 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 large beaten egg, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of paprika (if using). Stir until the mixture is evenly blended.
- Using your hands, take spoonfuls of the mixture and shape them into sticks, about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- In a deep skillet or frying pan, pour enough oil to reach a depth of about 1 inch and heat it over medium-high heat to approximately 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place a few sticks into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes until golden-brown, turning halfway through.
- Once cooked, transfer the crispy sticks onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Give them a moment to cool slightly.
- For an extra touch, sprinkle with fresh herbs like parsley or chives and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes
Ensure grating and squeezing out excess moisture from the potatoes for maximum crispiness. Fry in batches to maintain oil temperature.
