Cooking Steps
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
- Thinly slice potatoes into 1/8-inch rounds and layer half in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Layer half of the beef mixture followed by half of the cheese over the potatoes. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture over the layers.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, until potatoes are tender.
- In the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Serve warm, optionally garnish with parsley or chives.
