  • 2 cloves Garlic Optional, minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Optional.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Vegan Shrimp
  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Trim the hard ends and brown caps off the king oyster mushrooms, slice them into rounds approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Make the Marinade: In a medium saucepan, combine water, kelp flakes, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil for about 5 minutes.
  3. Marinate the Mushrooms: Pour the hot marinade over the mushroom slices and let them marinate for about 20 minutes.
  4. Sauté the Mushrooms: Melt vegan butter in a skillet, add the marinated mushrooms and sauté for about 3 minutes on each side.
  5. Add Aromatics (Optional): Add minced garlic during the last minute of cooking.
