  • 2 cups Oats rolled oats preferred for chewier texture
  • 1 Tbsp Ground flax mixed with 3 Tbsp water for flax egg (optional)
  • 1 tsp Baking soda check freshness
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon optional
  • to taste Sweetener such as monk fruit, stevia, or honey
For Storage
  • 1 container Airtight Container to keep cookies fresh
  • 1 bag Ziplock Bag for freezing

Method
 

Baking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce with your chosen sweetener until well integrated.
  3. Incorporate the oats into the wet mixture until evenly coated, adding optional cinnamon or flax egg if using.
  4. Add the baking soda and blend until fully incorporated, adjusting the mixture's consistency if too sticky.
  5. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  6. Scoop the dough onto a lined baking sheet and gently flatten each mound slightly.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft yet set.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
