Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  3. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

  5. Chill the dough covered for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  6. Roll the chilled dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then roll each in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Make an indentation in the center of each ball using your thumb or the handle of a spoon.
  8. Fill each indentation with a generous amount of apple butter.
  9. Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are golden brown, then cool on a wire rack.
