  • 1 cup Butter softened
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 large Egg Yolks whole eggs won't work here
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract pure or imitation
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
For the Coating
  • 1/4 cup Sanding Sugar do not substitute with granulated sugar
For the Center
  • 1 cup Chocolate M&M Candy or your favorite candy-coated chocolates

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing until well blended for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing on low speed just until there’s no dry flour remaining.
  5. Portion the dough into 1 teaspoon-sized balls, roll gently between palms, and roll in sanding sugar.
  6. Press a chocolate M&M candy into the center of each dough ball and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until edges are set and slightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
