- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add egg yolks and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing until well blended for about 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing on low speed just until there’s no dry flour remaining.
- Portion the dough into 1 teaspoon-sized balls, roll gently between palms, and roll in sanding sugar.
- Press a chocolate M&M candy into the center of each dough ball and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes until edges are set and slightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
