Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Whisk together flour, yeast, and salt. Heat milk, sugar, and butter until warm, stir into dry ingredients.
  2. Add the egg to the dough mixture and mix until you form a sticky dough. Gradually add more flour until elastic and tacky, about 5 minutes of kneading.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and let dough rest in a warm place for 10-20 minutes.
  4. Combine soft butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl to make the filling.
  5. Roll out the dough into an 18×12 inch rectangle and spread the filling evenly, leaving a border.
  6. Cut rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place cut side up in a lined baking pan.
  7. For same-day baking, let rolls rise in turned-off oven for 30 minutes. If prepared a night before, refrigerate overnight.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 26-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Make the cream cheese frosting by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and cream until smooth.
