  • 8 oz Cream Cheese use mascarpone for a unique twist
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar substitute granulated sugar if desired
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry Jam substitute with any fruit jam
Sandwiches
  • 4 slices Bread thick slices of brioche or challah
  • 1 cup Strawberries fresh and sliced; substitute with other berries if desired
Dipping Mixture
  • 2 large Eggs vegan option: flaxseed mix or silken tofu
  • 1/2 cup Milk dairy-free option: almond or oat milk
Frying
  • 4 tbsp Butter or coconut oil for dairy-free

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Take two thick slices of your chosen bread and spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice.
  3. Top one slice with freshly sliced strawberries and a layer of strawberry jam, then place the other slice on top.
  4. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk until fully combined.
  5. One by one, dip each assembled sandwich into the egg and milk mixture, allowing it to soak for about 10-15 seconds on each side.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. Place the coated sandwiches in the skillet, frying for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
