Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of warm water (about 110°F) with 2 ¼ teaspoons of active dry yeast and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Stir gently until dissolved, then let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Once yeast is activated, add 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, and 1 ½ teaspoons of salt. Mix until a rough dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough into a greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This will help achieve a golden crust.
- Punch down the risen dough gently and divide into 12 equal pieces, shaping each into a long, thin stick about 7 inches long.
- Cover the shaped breadsticks with a towel and allow to rise for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter and mix in ½ teaspoon of garlic powder and ½ teaspoon of salt.
- Brush the baked breadsticks with the garlic butter mixture and serve warm.

Notes
For the best taste, enjoy them fresh. If storing, keep in an airtight container; they taste best the day they're made!
