Preparation Steps
- Begin by shredding 1 cup of imitation crab meat and chopping 1/2 cup of small cooked shrimp into bite-sized pieces. Set aside the seafood mixture.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of sour cream, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until smooth and creamy. Add in 1 tablespoon of finely chopped celery, 1 tablespoon of finely chopped red onion, and 1/2 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning. Incorporate salt and pepper to taste.
- Gently fold the shredded imitation crab and chopped shrimp into the dressing using a spatula, ensuring that every piece of seafood is well-coated.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes.
- Lay a bed of fresh lettuce on a serving plate. Scoop the chilled seafood mixture onto the lettuce and garnish with optional diced tomatoes or cucumbers.
