Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the room-temperature unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Beat on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time while mixing on low speed, and then pour in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans with a spatula.
  6. For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before scooping onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
