For the Chips
  • 1 package Wonton Wrappers Cut into triangles before frying.
For the Toppings
  • 1 pound Ground Italian Pork Sausage Pre-seasoned options can save prep time.
  • 1 cup Pepperoni Any variety suits your taste preferences.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Essential for that creamy, melted texture.
  • 1 cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese Offers slight spice; cheddar can substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini or Banana Peppers Optional for those who like it milder.
For Dipping
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Consider spicy marinara for an extra kick!
For Frying
  • 2 cups Vegetable or Canola Oil Necessary for frying the wonton wrappers.

Equipment

  • skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • thermometer
  • paper towels

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground Italian pork sausage for approximately 8 minutes, breaking it up as it browns. Remove it from the skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Cut wonton wrappers into triangles. In the same skillet, heat vegetable or canola oil over medium-high heat to 350°F. Fry the wonton triangles for 1-2 minutes per side until crispy and golden brown. Set on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  3. Layer the crispy wonton chips on a baking sheet, top with pepper jack cheese, cooked sausage, pepperoni, and optional pepperoncini. Finish with a layer of shredded mozzarella.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the nachos for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve hot with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your delicious Italian nachos immediately!
