Ingredients

For the Chips
  • 1 package Wonton Wrappers cut into triangles before frying
For the Toppings
  • 1 pound Ground Italian Pork Sausage pre-seasoned options can save you prep time
  • 1 cup Pepperoni any variety suits your taste preferences
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese essential for that creamy, melted texture
  • 1 cup Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese offers a slight spice; cheddar can be a substitute
  • 1 cup Pepperoncini or Banana Peppers optional for those who like it milder
For Dipping
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce consider spicy marinara for an extra kick!
For Frying
  • 1 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil necessary for frying the wonton wrappers

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • paper towels

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground Italian pork sausage. Cook for approximately 8 minutes, using a spatula to break up the sausage as it browns. Remove it from the skillet and set it aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess fat.
  2. Cut wonton wrappers diagonally into triangles. In the same skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable or canola oil over medium-high heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C). Fry the wonton triangles for about 1-2 minutes per side until crispy and golden brown.
  3. On a large baking sheet, layer the nachos starting with a generous layer of crispy wonton chips. Top with pepper jack cheese, cooked sausage crumbles, pepperoni slices, and optional pepperoncini. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the nachos for about 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbling.
  5. Carefully remove nachos from the oven and serve hot with a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.
