Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Marinade: Blend the apple, ginger, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sweetener, and pepper until smooth. Set aside some marinade for later.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Make slits in the chicken legs and place them in a zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over, seal, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Air Fry the Chicken: Remove chicken from marinade, place in air fryer, and cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve and Garnish: Let the chicken rest, then serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
