Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Salted butter is a fine alternative.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced; fresh garlic is preferred.
  • 1 unit Onion Diced; shallots are a substitute.
  • 1 stalk Celery Chopped; can be left out if not on hand.
  • 1/4 cup All-Purpose Flour Opt for gluten-free flour blend if necessary.
  • 1 cup Seafood Stock Homemade stock preferred.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Half-and-half can lighten it if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning Can substitute with paprika and celery salt.

For the Seafood
  • 1 cup Shrimp Peeled and deveined; uncooked.
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Lobster Meat Can substitute with more shrimp or crab.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley Chopped; can substitute with chives.
For the Biscuits
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded; sharp or mild based on preference.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder Ensure it's fresh.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup Milk Any type of milk works.
  • optional Fresh Chives or Parsley Can be omitted.

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then sauté garlic, onion, and celery until soft.
  3. Sprinkle in flour to create a roux, cooking for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in seafood stock and heavy cream, cooking until thickened.
  5. Season and add shrimp, cooking until pink, then fold in lobster and parsley.
  6. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt for biscuit dough.
  7. Cut in cold butter, then stir in cheddar cheese and optional herbs.
  8. Add milk and mix until just combined.
  9. Spoon filling into a baking dish and dollop biscuit dough on top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  11. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
