Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • Ice
  • Sugar for rimming glasses optional
  • Lemon slices and strawberries for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl to remove seeds and pulp.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the strawberry-lemon mixture with vodka and a handful of ice. Shake well until chilled.
  3. If desired, rim the glasses with sugar by running a lemon wedge around the edge and dipping it into a plate of sugar.
  4. Fill the prepared glasses with ice and pour the martini mixture over the ice.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices and whole strawberries. Serve immediately.
